The city unit president of BVJA, K D Pawar said that Anna does realise that the rail roko may cause inconvenience to people but it was necessary in the interests of the same people and that the bill should be opposed by all sections of society. He said that the proposed amendments included keeping confidentiality of file notings among others.
Earlier, the BJP, the Left and RPI groups extended their support to Anna and in Delhi noted activist Sandeep Pandey called off his agitation after assurances from MP's belonging to the Left parties yesterday. Meanwhile Anna's fast-unto death enterd the eighth day but no government functionary barring the district collector has come to meet him, Pawar said, adding that the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had also written to Anna urging him to call off the fast. ''We are nevertheless going ahead with the agitation,'' Pawar said.
